Wedding Information

When choosing "I Do" Cakes as your cake provider, a $50 nonrefundable down payment is required to hold your date. The down payment is subtracted from your balance due.

The balance of the cake price is then split in 1/2. 2 months before the wedding 1/2 of the balance is due & 2 weeks before the wedding the remaining balance is due. This is all specified on your contract. If the balance is not paid 2 weeks prior to the event, the contract is null & void.

We accept checks, cash & money orders. Sorry we do not accept credit or debit.

Every wedding cake has a deposit. This amount is a separate check that we will hold for return of the cake "hardware". Hardware is the equipment used in your wedding cake, for example:

  • Fountain
  • Stainless steel support system
  • Pillars
  • Plates
  • Various stands

The deposit is fully refundable when the hardware is returned. It must be returned the Monday following your wedding. Usually someone else is designated to bring it back, since you will be on your honeymoon. We will ask you for this persons name & contact information.

Hardware must be clean & not broken for a refund. You will be provided with a complete list that includes replacement cost of each item.

Cake hardware is very expensive & we want to insure its return.

We typically deliver wedding cakes in the morning. If your venue requires a late delivery, it may add to the cost. Deliveries are typically arranged between us & the venue.

If you are using a hall where you are given a key (Bronson, UAW, Norwalk Expo) we will make arrangements with you for a time to meet. We have even delivered on Friday nights to make it easier for the bride.

Outdoor weddings should be delivered as close to reception time as possible, to avoid bugs & heat damage.

Every wedding has a contract with all of the order information included. If you are unable to find yours, please contact us for a new one.

We are now offering sample cupcakes for wedding tastings. Sample cupcakes must be requested the Wednesday before you want to pick them up. Samples are available in our most popular flavors, butter vanilla with raspberry filling & chocolate with chocolate bavarian creme filling.

Feel free to call us at (419) 433-2412 or e-mail for more information.

We also serve samples at bridal shows. We participate in Lyman Harbor's bridal show every year in January. We also join Beautiful Beginnings Bridal show at Mesenburgs, typically held in March & November. Another great sample opportunity is held at German's Villa in Vermilion - Taste of Germans, twice a year, you can sample all of their foods & we also serve cake for dessert; cost is approximately $12 per person

Kitchen Cakes

Kitchen cakes are a great way to help keep down the cost of a wedding. They are undecorated cakes, kept in the kitchen & used to serve your guests. We use round 2 layer cakes that are iced but not decorated (saving you the cost of labor). They can still be different flavors & include filling. When cut, your guests will not know that they have not gotten a piece of the actual wedding cake. This is why we do not use sheet cakes for this purpose.

Prices vary depending on how many people we need to serve with the kitchen cakes. The price is usually about half.

With this information in mind, you don't want to have a tiny two-tier cake for 300 guests. It would be out of proportion with your party size. Choose the wedding cake that you like best & we will figure the servings for you.
